She's alive!

Got the car back together, and the wheels are on! There's a few things I need to go back over. One of the headlights might need to be resealed too but I am IN LOVE with the no amber look and the wheels. The car looks so much more aggressive!

Baking 101 - Headlights

Finally got motivated and baked open my headlights to do the Amber delete and a little something extra. Basically I had to break off the amber reflector on the side and fill the holes in with bondo then repaint and I tinted the lower amber strip instead of buying the $80.00 OSIR ones.

I like the tinted look better because it still lights up amber and blends better with the housing when off. I also painted the high beam bowl satin black to give the headlights a "murdered out" look. I got the idea from an old team member and friend Jer aka "BreakMyWallet"

Inserts Painted and ready to be put back in...

Painted bowl in the background, masked up and ready in the foreground. A little tip: I used plastic cling wrap first so it wouldn't damage the projectors then used painters tape and some business cards to go back over.

Custom License Plate

Just applied for a custom Cali Plate. Hopefully they accept it!

New Wheels and A Make Over

So I finally go tired of having to clean the chrome on my wheels and made the decision to change the shoes again.

New Wheels For The Spring Time

I picked up some new wheels to take the car in a different direction and to get a little more aggressive stance going.

Interior Upgrades!

I've had my Kenwood flip out monitor sitting around from my previous cars and after finding out that the Kenwoods are some of the few monitors that allow the OEM radio cover to still close once installed I knew I had to put it in.

Since my team (Euro.Techniks) is affiliated with Lombards Auto Sound here in Santa Maria I just took the TT to them and let them deal with the wiring and install head ache this time. They always do a great job and I trust them with all my cars.

I also started to get a theme going in the interior. I decided to add some black suede parts (shift boot, and wrapped the pillars), and then added a brushed weighted shift knob that I surprisingly found at Auto Zone for $20 bux!

Next I took out the interior A-Pillars and wrapped them in black suede...

And of course top it all off with a Broadway Mirror (Thanks to Edwin@Cloudy Days)

3M DiNoc Carbon Fiber - Rear Diffuser Wrap

A friend of mine who owns One Autosport had some of the new 3M "DiNoc" Carbon Fiber Vinyl lying around and asked if I wanted to wrap my diffuser with some.

the vinyl is fairly easy to work with if you have a heat gun (which I didn't at the time). I just had a hair dryer but it did the job for the most part.

Chopped Roll Bars

One thing that I've always wanted to do is chop my roll bars. I'm pretty short my self so they are kinda over kill anyways but mostly they just look horrible IMO.

To get to the roll bars you have to take off the whole back panel. It's all clips so it's pretty easy to pull apart, but it can be a bit scary at first since you don't want to break anything. Once the back panel is off there's two huge bolts holding in each roll bar.

Change of Mind...Again! - Blue Wheels

Changed my mind again. Went with Blue this time for the wheels. Can't really tell in these pics how bright it is...

Change of Mind - Gun Metal Wheels

So I decided to change the wheel color up a bit to something that flowed with my theme a little more. I used Rust-Oleum gun metal metallic paint after some coats of satin black.

Headrest Lowering DIY

Here's a pretty basic DIY I did for those guys with TT Roadsters. The stock headrest come locked so you can't adjust them up or down and it makes the car look like a toy IMO.

First Lift up the plastic cover:

Then you'll see the clip you need to remove... (I circled it)

I used my key, just shove it in there and slide the key over. The clip should pop out the back side

This is what the clip looks like

Now just push the headrest down like you would any headrest and snap the first plastic cover back on and you're done. Easy as pie.

Prep For My First Show

West Coast Worthersee 2009 was the first show I entered the TT in; the week prior was a frenzy. Thanks to help from all my Euro.Techniks team members and friends along with the CCEC members I was able to get everything on in time for the show.

I bought a roll of flat black AVERY vinyl from Beacon Graphics and wrapped my exterior window frame for a little two tone look and to blend with the top when it's up. I also wrapped the gas cap and rear diffuser.
Along with the vinyl work I painted the front audi rings black, got the coils and wheels on (the day of!) and of course since the TT was finally modded we put on the ET team banner right before roll in :)

I was a little bummed my spacers didn't come in time for the show but what can you do? Here's some pics rolling to and at the show.
